Ten people were rushed to hospital after flames ripped through a flat. The drama unfolded in Edinburgh yesterday evening, with emergency services called to the scene.

Officers from Police Scotland, paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service and firefighters from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service descended on Niddrie Mill Crescent.

And the authorities are now investigating the blaze in a bid to establish exactly what caused the fire, which was reported at around 6.40pm on Wednesday.
