After a super-Saturday demolition of Aberdeen in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final, Celtic return to Europe’s elite stage – the Champions League.

The Bhoys welcome RB Leipzig to Celtic Park, and will be desperate to avoid a repeat of their last meeting with German opposition, where the Hoops were defeated 7-1 by Borussia Dortmund. Celtic sit 20th in the revamped Champions League table, courtesy of an opening game thrashing of Slovan Bratislava and a hard-fought draw against Europa League holders Atalanta in Bergamo.

Marco Rose’s visitors have lost every match in the group stage so far, but emerged 2-0 victors on their previous trip to Parkhead in October 2022 in the same competition. Goals from Tottenham Hotspur ace Timo Werner and Swedish international Emil Forsberg were enough to dump the Celts from the tournament.
