A bomb disposal squad has 'safely removed' a suspicious looking item which put a street in Aberdeen into lockdown.
Multiple police and fire service personnel were pictured at the scene on Lemon Place, with surrounding streets, including Park Street, closed off earlier on Wednesday evening.
Police say they were alerted to the incident at around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday and urged the public to avoid the area.
Police have now confirmed that Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams attended and dismantled the item. The package which was tied to a street sign appears to have been a false call and there is no wider risk to the public.
Residents were evacuated after emergency services cordoned off the area and were provided shelter. They have now been advised they can return home.
Police Scotland North East stated: "The cordon has now been lifted around Lemon Place, Aberdeen following the earlier discovery of a suspicious package.

"EOD attended and the item was dismantled. This is believed to have been a false call with good intent. There is no wider risk. Thank you for your patience."
Aberdeen City Council added: "A bomb disposal squad have safely removed a suspicious looking item which was tied to a street sign on Lemon Place.
"The item proved to be harmless and residents who were evacuated and provided temporary shelter have been advised they can return to their homes.
