A hard-working Wishaw woman has been thanked for everything she does for her family.

Marie Kelly was nominated for our weekly Say it with Flowers award by her daughter-in-law Louise Ewan who is married to Marie’s son Paul.

Louise said: “She is the most kind hearted, loving person in the place.

“She helps out with her grandson Oliver no problem but best of all she cooks us a family feast every Sunday and never wants a penny off us and let’s just say there is a good few mouths to feed.

“She is there for us all in the blink of an eye no matter what the situation is.

“We really would love to show her how much she really means to all the family with this special nomination.”

She continued: “We got married earlier this year and Marie was brilliant for us.

“She made all the favours for the wedding and then looked after our son while we went on honeymoon; it was unbelievable.”

When Louise told us all about Marie and what she does for her family, we surprised her at the Aroma cafe in Larkhall where she works to present her with a beautiful bouquet of flowers thanks to our friends at Pixie’s Petals in Newmains.

Louise added: “Marie lost her partner two years ago which was very difficult for her.

“I feel like we should be doing more for her but it’s the other way around, she just doesn’t stop.

“She loves baking and cooking and she just goes above and beyond. I think we would be lost without her.

“I think she might kill me for nominating her!

“But I think she deserves it but she just won’t stop. She’s incredible so I thought this would be a nice way to recognise her.”
