McFly's Danny Jones is said to be stepping in for Tommy Fury on the upcoming series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
Tommy, the boxer and former Love Island contestant who parted ways with his once-intended Molly-Mae Hague earlier this year, had been in talks with ITV's flagship reality show's producers for some time but eventually declined the offer, even though the show's launch date is rapidly closing in.
Amid speculation about his participation on the jungle-based programme, when probed on Heart Breakfast recently about joining the line-up, he dodged confirming his involvement: "Listen a lot of things in my life is like a rollercoaster in a minute. There are so many things I might do. You know, could he be doing this? Could he be doing that? To be honest with you, I don't know what I'm doing this afternoon. I mean, I just take literally an hour at a time, so I don't know. There's a lot of things going on in my life right now. So, I'm not sure on anything."
Now, a source has suggested that it's the McFly vocalist Danny Jones who will join the host of celebrities in Australia's rugged terrain. "As well as bringing some of the star appeal of the group with him, he'll be supplying some serious guy candy for the campmates and viewers at home," the insider claimed.
"All the McFly guys are gym fanatics and Danny in particular has a great physique - which he's bound to show off in the jungle," they revealed to The Sun. ITV and Danny's representatives have been contacted by The Mirror for a statement, reports the Mirror.
The insider also mentioned that the singer is set to 'fill the jungle hunk gap' left by Tommy.
ITV chiefs reportedly had high hopes for reality star Tommy to boost viewership for their hit series, expecting him to reveal details about his sensational split from Molly-Mae Hague. The ex-pair, who found fame on the fifth series of Love Island, moved in together, welcomed their daughter Bambi in January last year, and were even engaged.
Yet, audiences were taken aback when they declared their separation after a five-year romance. Speculation was rife that Tommy would open up around the campfire, in the company of other celebrities, and divulge the real story behind his breakup with his former partner amid whispers of cheating.
