Woman rushed to hospital after car crushed in horror Edinburgh crash

Emergency crews rushed to the two-vehicle smash on Edinburgh Road at its junction with Loanhead Drive in Newbridge on Thursday afternoon.

A woman is in hospital after a horror crash on a busy Edinburgh road.

Emergency crews rushed to the two-vehicle smash on Edinburgh Road at its junction with Loanhead Drive in Newbridge at 3pm on Thursday. Medics attended and a woman was rushed to hospital as a precaution.

Another woman and a male child were checked over by paramedics at the scene. Police say inquiries into the crash are ongoing.

The side of the wreckage has been pictured destroyed with its wheels turned inwards and the driver door cut away. Several ambulances were pictured in attendance as a police cordon was put in place.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a two-car crash on Edinburgh Road at its junction with Loanhead Drive in Newbridge around 3pm on Thursday, 17 October, 2024. One woman was taken to hospital as a precaution and another woman and a boy were checked over by paramedics at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing.”
