Body found in search for Scots man who vanished in Highlands

Anthony Brown was last seen by family at his home on Wednesday morning.

A body has been discovered in the search for a missing Scots man.

Officers found a man's body in the Balblair area this afternoon, Thursday, September 19, at around 4pm. Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of Anthony Brown, 62, has been informed.

Anthony was last seen by family on Wednesday morning at his home in Fortrose, around eight miles away from where the body was discovered.

Police say there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 4pm on Thursday, 19 September, 2024, the body of a man was found in the Balblair area. Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of missing man Anthony Brown has been informed.

"There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
