Queen Camilla's son, Tom Parker Bowles, has casually revealed the endearing nickname his kids use for their grandfather, King Charles, offering a rare look into his family dynamics.

Parker Bowles, aged 49, opened up on Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh about the unique moniker his children Lola, who is 17 and Freddy, aged 14, have for the monarch, highlighting their strong connection. Discussing life with Royal ties, Tom shared: "The children, of course, don't really know any different. So 'Uppa', as they call the King, they've grown up with this man that they all love and think is wonderful."

Tom acknowledged that although the King represents normalcy for his kids, it's hard to avoid the impact of his stepfather's prominent status, as people frequently remind them of his noteworthy title.

"People ask them and they are like, 'What? It's just Uppa! '," he added. "So yes, I mean, a healthy perspective I think, but you have to keep saying, 'It's the King. Get out your tracksuit bottoms!' "

Moreover, during his chat, Parker Bowles gave a loving mention of his mother, Queen Camilla, lauding her as an affectionate grandmother to his children, especially her prowess in whipping up his favoured dish, reports the Mirror.

"He explained, "She is a really good grandmother so we go down to her house in Wiltshire and that's where we can relax," before elaborating on some of her unexpected culinary talents. Tom described his mother as a "basic English cook", revealing that the Queen doesn't like to use precise measurements when cooking or even follow recipes.

He also mentioned she wasn't much of a baker - but did have one standout dish that always pleases the crowd, her roast chicken which has become a beloved family favourite.

Last month, Tom also shared how his mother had been coping with her husband's cancer fight, telling the Daily Express "[The] doctor says the treatment is going well. She's tough, my mother."

The King was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer back in February, and briefly took a step back from Royal duties to undergo treatment and regain his health. Although Charles is still receiving treatment, his condition thankfully improved enough to carry out some public engagements over the past few months, with Queen Camilla consistently by his side for many of them.

Some notable appearances included Charles' visit to Southport following a stabbing attack that took the lives of three young children, and at the anniversary event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

The couple are currently gearing up for a brief tour of Australia and Samoa from October 18 to October 26.
