Meghan Markle "is a good person" with a "big heart", her former bodyguard has disclosed. Steve Davies, who worked with the Duchess of Sussex during her early days in the Royal Family, has come forward to defend her against multiple bullying allegations from staff members.

"She gets a bad rap for being a not very good person to work with, that she was this evil person in the Royal Family," he commented. Steve remembered Meghan's interactions with diverse groups, from charity workers to dog walkers and cleaners.

He also highlighted a key takeaway from his time with Meghan: "Give respect to get respect".

Despite his sympathy for her as she navigated Royal life, Steve spoke to In Touch Magazine about the challenges Meghan faced, including paranoia due to relentless public scrutiny.

"She was paranoid. We had people following us around everywhere we went," he recounted, describing the experience as a "nightmare" with drones and vehicles constantly trailing them, which stripped away the freedoms Meghan once had.

Meghan has openly discussed her struggles with feeling confined during her tenure with the Royal Family, reports the Mirror US.

In a 2021 interview with CBS, she revealed: "I couldn't call an Uber to the palace. You couldn't just go."

She also mentioned having to surrender her passport and keys to Royal aides and being discouraged from social outings, saying: "People within The Firm would say, 'No, you're oversaturated, it would be best for you to not go out.' I go, 'Well, I haven't left the house in months'."
