Meghan Markle "is a good person" with a "big heart", her former bodyguard has revealed. Steve Davies, who previously worked closely with the Duchess of Sussex when she joined the Royal Family, has come to her defence amid various bullying accusations from staff members, reports the Mirror.

He maintains that these claims are far from accurate. "She gets a bad rap for being a not very good person to work with, that she was this evil person in the Royal Family," he commented. However, Steve's memories of Meghan depict her as someone who connected with individuals from all walks of life, "from working with charities to working with dog walkers and cleaners."

One key insight Steve gained from his time with Meghan was the importance of mutual respect: "give respect to get respect". He also admitted feeling sympathy for her during her initial transition into Royal life, as reported by The Mirror US.

In a candid chat with In Touch Magazine, Steve opened up about how the relentless media attention took its toll on Meghan. He shared: "She was paranoid. We had people following us around everywhere we went.", reports the Mirror.

He described the experience of being tailed by drones and cars as a "nightmare", noting that Meghan lost many of the freedoms she once had. Reflecting on a more personal moment, Steve recalled when Meghan yearned for the normalcy of grocery shopping. He narrated an occasion where "I pushed the cart around the grocery store, and she was putting stuff in it. She really enjoyed that."

Meghan has been forthright about the limitations that weighed on her during her time with the Royal Family. In an intimate chat with CBS back in 2021, Meghan disclosed, "I couldn't call an Uber to the palace. You couldn't just go." The star of 'Suits' went on to detail how key personal possessions like her passport and keys were held by Royal aides

Speaking of longing for a sense of the ordinary, she remembered, "People within The Firm would say, 'No, you're oversaturated, it would be best for you not to go out.' I go, 'Well, I haven't left the house in months'."

Even as Buckingham Palace officials accused her of bullying, claims she vehemently denied, Steve, based on his Canadian encounters with her described Meghan as "warm and considerate". He emphasized how her kindness often surprises individuals, remarking on "what a big heart she has".

Although he's no longer in her employ, Steve didn't hold back in praising the Duchess, asserting he'd jump at the chance to work with her once more, labelling Meghan as an exemplary chief.
