Five injured after horror smash in Fife as emergency services scramble to scene

Police, ambulances and the Scottish Fire Services attended the crash with several casualties being rushed to hospital. The road remained closed while the scene was cleared.

Five people have been injured after a horror smash in Fife as emergency services scrambled to the scene.

The head-on collision involving two vehicles occurred on the A914 near Kettlebridge shortly before 7am on Sunday morning.

Police, ambulances and the Scottish Fire Services attended the crash with several casualties being rushed to hospital. The road remained closed while the scene was cleared. The condition of those involved is currently unknown.

Shocking images show the huge emergency response including several ambulances and police on the country road outside Cupar and the bonnet of one red vehicle totally smashed up.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A914 near Kettlebridge at 6.58am.

“We sent two appliances, one from Cupar and another from Glenrothes, to assist police and ambulance.

“There are five casualties. We left the scene at 7.50am.”

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have also been approached for comment.
