Prince William and Prince Harry's ongoing feud shows little sign of easing, despite hopes from Princess Kate for reconciliation, a Royal expert has revealed.

The discord between the brothers was thrust into the spotlight when Prince Harry mentioned they were on "different paths" during a 2019 ITV documentary, following rumours of tensions after his marriage to Meghan Markle.

Further strains were highlighted by Harry and Meghan's explosive claims about the Royal Family in their March 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and their Netflix documentary series released in December 2022.

Prince Harry's January 2023 release of his memoir Spare, added more fuel to the fire with additional controversial revelations.

Ex-BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond has commented on the impact this feud has had on Princess Kate, expressing her views to OK!

Magazine in September 2023: "When you come from a happy, united family as Catherine does it's incredibly hard to understand how people can become estranged."

Bond believes that Kate had faith in mending the brothers' relationship, especially after she was seen engaging with Harry post-Prince Philip's funeral, seemingly encouraging William to join the conversation.

However, Bond disclosed: "I think she believed the rift could be fixed and, after Prince Philip's funeral, we saw her talking with Harry and obviously encouraging William to do the same. But we now know that it didn't work."

She further revealed: "In fact, William and Harry had a blazing row right after the funeral."

Bond concluded with a somber note on family dynamics, stating, "There comes a point when you just have to accept that happy families are not a game that everyone can play."

The Royal commentator went on to say: "Catherine has been hurt and insulted by things that Harry and Meghan have said."

"But she and William are a very strong team, and I suspect that, together, they've come to the conclusion that the rift with Harry cannot be fixed in the foreseeable future."

"They've closed their minds to that possibility and decided to get on with their lives."
