Janey Godley's daughter Ashley says she's struggling as she 'doesn't know what to say' following mum's death

It has been five days since Scots comic Janey Godley sadly passed away, and her daughter Ashley Storrie has thanked everyone for their messages although has admitted that she is struggling.

The 63-year-old funny woman spent the last few weeks in a Glasgow hospice surrounded by her loved ones.

Prior to her mum's death Ashley, 38, who has autism, opened up on Instagram in a powerful statement which detailed how she's handling the situation and why she continuined to work.

And now, Ashley admitted that she's seeking normalcy and although she is trying very hard, she is still struggling.

She said: "Hello friends, a big thank you to everyone who has sent loads of lovely messages, I'm grateful, I'm trying to stick to some resemblance of normality, trying to leave the house. Paul took me out yesterday, we had a meeting about work, then he took me to Nandos.

She then made a lighthearted joke: "Then I got diarrhoea from eating Nandos, so normalcy!

She then added: "Been to the gym today I'm trying very hard, and I appreciate all your messages, and I'm so sorry that I've not replied to everyone, in fact I don't think I've replied to anybody.

"I just don't have the wherewithal to type out messages. I don't know what to say and I don't want to say the wrong thing.

"I find this easier for some reason just now, so that is all you're getting for now. I'm sorry. But I appreciate you, bye."

Alongside the post she wrote the caption: "As always, I’m grateful and appreciative, just still struggling a wee bit x."

On September 25, Janey, 63, broke the devastating news to fans that her cancer had spread and that she would now be spending the rest of her life in a hospice where she will receive palliative care.

Janey said: “The chemo ran out of options, and I couldn’t take anymore of it. The cancer has spread, so it looks like this will be getting to near the end of it, and it’s really difficult to speak about this and say it to people.

“It is devastating news, to know that I’m facing end of life but we all come to an end some time. I don’t know how long I’ve got left before anybody asks, I’m not a tick tock, I just want you all to know that I appreciate all the love you’ve gave me. Cancer affects one in two people and it’s affected me."
