Woman rushed to hospital after being struck by car in Glasgow

The pedestrian was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmiry but no infromation is available on her injuries at this stage.

A woman has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car on a busy road in Glasgow this afternoon.

Emergency crews rushed to Marfied Street in the east end of the city after reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car at around 3.30pm this afternoon, Friday, October 11.

The woman was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. Her condition is not yet known.

An image from the scene shows three police vehicles and an ambulance at the scene, with officers standing nearby.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.30pm on Friday, October 11, we received a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Marfield Street, Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and one woman was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing."
