A driver has died after a horror crash between a bus and three cars in Lanarkshire this afternoon.

Emergency crews were scrambled to Stirling Street at Airdrie town centre at around 3.25pm on Friday, October 11, after reports of the multi-vehicle collision.

A 58-year-old male was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later. His family have been notified and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Nobody else was injured during the incident and the road has since reopened.

Sergeant Nick Twigg from Road Policing said: “We are appealing for any potential witnesses who are still to speak to officers to please get in touch.

“We would also urge anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage to pass this on to us by call 101 and quoting incident number 2154 of Friday, 11 October, 2024.”
