Lorraine Kelly has recreated a special moment from 30 years ago on her ITV show with daughter Rosie and baby granddaughter Billie.

Rosie Kelly Smith and baby Billie, who was born on August 29, appeared on the Lorraine show this morning alongside Dr Hilary Jones to take a look back at footage from three decades ago which shows the Scots presenter cradling a new-born Rosie on GMTV back in 1994.

The footage showed a younger Lorraine with darker hair holding Rosie in her arms as Dr Hilary Jones offered her some advice on navigating parenthood for the first time. This was the first time Rosie, who was born in June 1994, made her debut on live television with her mother.

Now 30 years on, history has repeated itself as Rosie appeared on Lorraine with her two-month old daughter Billie with Dr Hilary Jones by her side. Comparing the old clip with Rosie's appearance on the show this morning, the health expert said: "Goodness me. You can see the resemblance. 30 years on. It's incredible" as Lorraine agreed: "Uncanny, actually."

Rosie became a mother for the first time when she welcomed Billie on August 29 with her fiancé Steve White. Speaking of her motherhood journey so far, Rosie said: "She's been a dream baby."

When asked if she's been getting some sleep as a new mum by Dr Hilary, she replied: "A little bit yeah. I'm very lucky that my Steve, he's like very insistent. He's hands on. I've been getting sleep. We've been doing it in shifts."

Opening up about breastfeeding, she shared: "That's been very hard but good. I didn't realise how much hard work it was. I didn't know if I could do it and I didn't put pressure on myself but I wanted to try it. The first few days are hard, well worth it.

"Sometimes my supply is really bad, sometimes really good. Then I panic. It's fine, I think I've been lucky with her. She loves her food. She's food driven." She then joked: "She would take milk off a deodorant stick to be honest."

Admitting that she has struggled with some postpartum anxiety, Rosie told Dr Hilary: "A lot of people say your hormones are mental and you will have all these feelings. I was really sort of prepared to feel like I'm not good enough, I'm not doing well enough but I wasn't prepared for not feeling safe and I thought that's not normal."

Dr Hilary reassured her: "It is normal. About 15 per cent of women postnatally will feel anxious and worried about everything. Of course you've got a new responsibility. But also you're tired.

"You have sleep deprivation and interrupted sleep. Your hormones are taking a big drop and all of that has a huge influence physiologically on your body and your mind."

Rosie agreed: "I feel a lot better. After the six weeks hit, the fog has gone off. I can enjoy it a bit" as Lorraine looked on proudly at her daughter before sharing a sweet photo of her own mother Anne holding her great granddaughter Rosie.
