Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers applauds travelling fans

How to watch Sligo vs Celtic on live stream with PPV details for mid-season friendly

The Scottish Premiership has taken a break for international action but the Hoops have taken on a game across the Irish Sea

by · Daily Record

Club football might be taking a break but not all of Celtic's players will get a rest over the next fortnight.

The Premiership champions have taken on a mid-season friendly as they take on League of Ireland outfit Sligo - who stunned Motherwell in the Europa Conference League two years ago - at The Showgrounds, just a few miles from the birthplace of Celtic founder Brother Walfrid.

It will give Brendan Rodgers the chance to give some of his fringe men some much-needed game time ahead of their return to domestic action with a huge top of the table clash against Aberdeen. Rodgers said: "When you're working at a club like Celtic you are reminded every day of its history, so it's great to be able to visit and play in Sligo, a place where the club has so many amazing links. " The game is completely sold out but here's how you can watch the match.

Where and when will the game take place?

The friendly takes place at The Showgrounds on Wednesday, October 9. The game kicks off at 7.30pm.

Where can I watch the game?

Fans will be able to see the game but must purchase a pay-per-view pass for LOITV (League of Ireland TV) for €10.

Where else can I follow the action?

You can keep up with all the action right here on dailyrecord.co.uk! We'll be running a live blog with all the pre-match build-up and team news, and every kick of the ball once the clash gets underway.
