Prince William's four-word response to finding out Meghan was pregnant

Prince Harry has lifted the lid on his brother Prince William's reaction to the news that he was to become an uncle for the first time when Harry and Meghan were expecting Archie.

Prince William's succinct four-word reaction upon learning he would become an uncle was disclosed by Prince Harry in the revealing memoir 'Spare' .

Harry detailed the moment he informed the future king at St George's Hall following Princess Eugenie's wedding—a peculiar setting for sharing such significant personal news. Amidst a backdrop of suits of armour, according to Harry, William said simply: "We must tell Kate."

Harry then expressed satisfaction over the response he received from the then-Duchess of Cambridge, saying in the memoir: "Big smile and hearty congratulations. They both reacted exactly as I hoped - as I'd wished."

The couple's joy over their pregnancy in 2018 was contrasted with their current estrangement from the Royal Family, reports the Scottish Daily Express.

In Spare, Harry also recounts King Charles' delighted reaction upon hearing that he was to be a grandfather once more. Harry narrated the encounter that took place just before a drinks reception for his cousin's nuptials: "Just before a drink reception for the bride and groom, we cornered Pa in his study. He was delighted to learn that he was going to be a grandfather for a fourth time; his wide smile warmed me."

Archie, Harry and Meghan's firstborn, made his arrival into the world on May 6, 2019, at Portland Hospital in London. Later, in 2021, the Sussexes welcomed Lilibet at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California.

The family of four now live in Montecito, California. Harry often travels back to the UK for events, but his relationship with the Royal Family remains tense, largely due to his decision to write the book.
