Married at First Sight UK's Sacha Jones had a dramatic start to her quest for love on the show when she feared she was suffering from hypothermia on her wedding day.

The 29-year-old from Birmingham had to summon the medic during her nuptials to groom Ross, as cold conditions nearly derailed her big day.

In a candid chat with fellow series contestant Kieran, Sacha revealed, "It was quite cold - our wedding day; they made it look warm. I had socks on under the table; that's how cold my feet were. I had to get the medic over; I thought I had hypothermia."

Further detailing the chilling experience, she added, "My toes went purple, it was that cold. Everybody was sat on hot water bottles. We were sat in a beautiful old chapel but it had no heating."

Beyond the temperature troubles, Sacha uncovered more behind-the-scenes secrets of her wedding day, including her aversion to the provided drinks. She divulged: "I knew they were gonna try to give me prosecco and I hate prosecco. I could sense it," resulting in repeated filming stops to switch her glasses for bottles of Asti, a sweet dessert wine, which she brought along.

"I took three bottles of the sweet dessert wine in called Asti. They had to keep cutting the camera for the bottles to be replaced on the top table. Not enough to get drunk!" she added.

Adding to the secrecy of the experience, Sacha recalled how she couldn't disclose her participation in MAFS UK, leading her to fib about attending a yoga retreat instead.

Sacha, the former Miss Birmingham who tied the knot in a whirlwind fashion, recalled to Birmingham Live how well she managed to keep it under wraps: "I was really good at keeping quiet. I told everyone I was on a yoga retreat. I needed an excuse to explain why I wasn't going to be on my phone. Everyone was completely shocked when the news came out.

"It was a very quick process. I applied right before the deadline, got a call the next day, and then it was bang, bang, bang - you're getting married. It was surreal, and I didn't have time to think."

She revealed her excitement about the nuptials: "But it was exciting to know I'd be ringing in the new year with my new husband."

Married At First Sight UK airs on E4.
