Scots Jet2 flight declares mid-air emergency while flying to Alicante

A Scottish flight has been forced to make an emergency U-turn on the way to a popular holiday destination.

The Jet2 aircraft was heading to the Spanish city of Alicante this morning (October 22) from Edinburgh but declared a mid-air emergency around 8.28am while over the south of England.

Flight LS775 departed from the capital's airport at around 7.26am this morning but was forced to divert to London Stansted airport.

The flight landed at around 08.48am and was taxied to the gate.

A Jet2 spokesperson said: “We can confirm that flight LS775 from Edinburgh to Alicante diverted to London Stansted this morning (Tuesday 22nd October), due to a customer requiring medical assistance. The aircraft subsequently continued its journey to Alicante.”
