Rachel Reeves has challenged the SNP to deliver "effective" public services after she handed the Scottish Government a £3.4 billion boost today.

The Labour Chancellor used her first Budget statement to announce the "largest real-terms funding settlement" for devolved governments in 25 years.

She told MPs: "We will drive growth in Scotland - a key priority for Scottish Labour, and our leader Anas Sarwar.

"This Budget provides the devolved governments with the largest real-terms funding settlement since devolution - delivering an additional £3.4 billion for the Scottish Government through the Barnett formula.

"Funding which must be now used effectively in Scotland to deliver the public services the people of Scotland deserve."
