Kate Hudson put a cozy spin on red carpet attire ahead of the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special on Sunday in Los Angeles. The televised event will feature performances from Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Raye and more.

Hudson selected a fuzzy high-neck gown from Fendi Couture’s fall 2023 collection. The actress and singer paired her sage green frock with diamond-encrusted huggie earrings, a gold David Yurman cuff and open-toe heels.

Emerald, chartreuse and olive tones are poised for popularity this season following Pantone’s Color Trend Report. At New York Fashion Week in February, leafy hues like Fern, Aventurine and Golden Palm as three of the most popular colors favored by designers.

Meanwhile, tufted fabrics are also trending for fall following TikTok’s “mob wife” craze.

“You couldn’t escape the importance of texture,” this season, Linda Fargo, director of women’s fashion at Bergdorf Goodman, told WWD of the prominence of “shaggy robe coats, just-out-of-the-rain faux furs, shearling and more shearling [and] fuzzy-wuzzy accessories.”

In lieu of a ceremony this year, the American Music Awards celebrates its 50th anniversary with a televised special airing on CBS and Paramount+. Performers include Raye, Stray Kids, Mariah Carey and Gladys Knight, while Kate Hudson, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Lopez, among others, will make special appearances.
