AN unrepentant Mutare man, who was doing community service at the Magistrates Court, did the unthinkable and stole a surge protector adaptor valued at US$20 at the premises.

The accused person was identified as Simbarashe Nathan Chiara (31) of Sakubva.

Following his conviction of theft this Monday, Chiara was sentenced to one-month imprisonment.

The State case was that on October 14, 2024, while carrying out his duties at the court complex as part of unpaid work for another felony, the accused person stashed the gadget to deprive its rightful owner of their property.
