A car crashed into several parked vehicles in Newark after the driver lost control. The vehicle reportedly mounted a kerb whilst being driven at speed through the Nottinghamshire town, causing it to collide with a number of parked vehicles on Harcourt Street on July 21.

It has been reported that attempts were then made to drive the car away, but instead it crashed into another stationary vehicle. The car was then abandoned and the occupants ran away from the scene towards London Road at around 8.40pm.

Each of the cars involved in the collision was left damaged. Nottinghamshire Police has now released an image of two people they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

PCSO Katherine Hewerdine, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “It’s important that anyone who recognises either of the people in this picture gets in touch with us. That’s because we believe both will have information that could really assist us in getting to the bottom of what happened during this incident.

“We’d also ask that, if either of them sees this appeal, they contact us, so that we can speak to them.” Anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident 639 of 21 July 2024, or by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
