Poundland has brought out two Christmas-inspired sandwiches in time for the festive season. The discount retailer is joining other stores in adding a seasonal twist to its lunch options.

The £2 turkey, cranberry, and stuffing sandwich is now part of Poundland's affordable meal deal. For vegetarians, there is a 'cheese and Christmas slaw' option that customers can find in the chilled section from this week.

Crafted by 'On A Roll Sandwich Company's Pantry', these sandwiches are competitively priced at just £2 each, on their own. But for £1 more, customers can also take advantage of the store's meal deal - which includes any sandwich, a drink, and a snack for a total of £3.

"Others may have celebrities in their expensive Christmas TV ads, but at Poundland it's the price that's the star," said FMCG director Glyn Hughes. "That's why we're delighted to have worked with up-and-coming supplier On A Roll to create a festive sandwich that tastes as good as any on the market – and just for £2."

Despite not being the typical go-to for many office workers' lunches, Poundland's £3 meal deal has been making waves, reports the Mirror. The budget shop offers a cheaper solution to midday hunger than some other competitors, like Tesco, Asda and Aldi.

Since the Poundland range went on sale, many have taken to TikTok and shared their discoveries of new and classic favourites, including sandwiches, wraps, and pasta. The meal deal was introduced earlier this year, but the new festive filled sandwiches have only just been added.

Poundland's meal deals are promoted as the cheapest around compared to Tesco's £3.40 deal (if you have a Clubcard).

Brands up and down the country have revealed festive menus as the nation gears up for Christmas - which is only a few weeks away. Major chains like Greggs, Costa Coffee, and McDonald's have all released information about special items coming to stores for a limited time only.

TV chef Nigella Lawson hinted at the comeback of the beloved Festive Bake, alongside sandwiches, sweet treats and hot drinks. Meanwhile, for those craving quick bites, McDonald's revealed a host of popular items making a return to its dynamic Christmas menu.

This announcement follows Poundland's decision to increase the number of items at £1 or below from around 1,000 to 1,500 in all its UK stores. Last week, everyday essentials such as milk, bread, sugar, and eggs were all reduced to a fixed price of £1.

Poundland began the launch of new £1 fresh produce stands in over 520 stores across the UK. Now, across Poundland's typical core range of around 5,000 items, around a third are £1 or less, reinforcing Poundland's aim to be the home of the pound.
