The woman who died in a collision with a Nottingham bus has been named as Helaleh Cheraghmakani as people pay tribute to her as as a "beautiful soul." The wife and mother was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on Lower Parliament Street, reported at 6.05am on Tuesday (October 22).

Nottingham City Transport has confirmed one of its Navy Line buses was involved in the collision which killed Helaleh, who was in her thirties. Nottinghamshire Police has appealed for further witnesses to the tragedy to come forward.

Dawn Shaw is the co-director and manager of Learning Works for Children, a nursery based on Carlton Road which is attended by Helaleh's daughter Liana. The nursery director said: "We knew her from being a parent at the nursery, but obviously you get really close to the parents because we're like the children's second mums and we're not just nursery practitioners, we're so much more than that.

"We help the parents out with no end of stuff that's not even within the job, so you just get on that level with people. She was such a lovely person. I know when someone passes away everyone always says 'they were such a nice person', but she was.

"She was so gentle and just a really lovely lady." A statement sharing news of Helaleh's passing with other parents at the nursery earlier in the week read: "We are sorry and saddened to hear of the passing of Helaleh.

"You had such high hopes and dreams for your family. A gentle and beautiful soul, it was an honour to have known you.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with all that knew you and we wish you all comfort and strength in the weeks ahead. Love from your friends at Learning Works for Children."

An online fundraising page has also been set up to support Helaleh's family in the wake of her passing. The GoFundMe page, established by friend Elaheh Arjmand, carries a statement which says: "She touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth, kindness, and strength. Her passing has left all of us heartbroken, especially her husband Ramin who must now struggle to navigate this unimaginable loss.

"As we come to terms with the deep loss of Helaleh, it's our turn to uplift her family as they face the immense emotional and financial burden that comes with such a sudden loss." Those wishing to donate to the fundraiser can do so here.
