Bluetooth trackers have become increasingly popular, with devices like Apple AirTags, Tile, and Samsung Galaxy Tags being snapped up due to their ability to send alerts. These handy gadgets are attached to important items such as car keys, handbags, or laptop cases and have become a must-have for many.
Some parents have even started using the Galaxy Smart Tag2 to keep track of their children who don't have mobile phones. One happy customer who took advantage of Amazon's 53% discount said, "This tag is great, I use it to track my kid to school as he doesn't take his phone".
The device was originally priced at £39.99, but Amazon has reduced it to £18.78 - a saving of 53 per cent. As a result, over 4,000 units have been sold this month alone.
Our tech experts have tested rival products like Apple AirTags and Tile Tags to locate lost luggage, and this Samsung variant seems just as reliable. Out of over 3,000 Amazon reviews, 69% have given the Galaxy Smart Tag 2 a perfect score.
A recent buyer praised the product, saying, "They're small, easily attached to items by the hoop incorporated in the design", and commented on the user-friendliness of the accompanying app , reports the Express.
Buyers of a new AI tracker are praising its effectiveness, with one saying: "Most of all they do what they're designed to do. It's easy to see where the tags are on the Smart Things app."
Another user shared their experience: "I was concerned that there would be areas where there would be no response because of lack of Samsung devices. This doesn't appear to be the case."
One person mentioned a practical use: "I currently have a tag on my car keys. My daughter is using the car and I can see she is currently just outside Limerick. Despite being in the middle of nowhere the position shown in the app is correct within 15 meters."
Another customer had success using the tracker for travel, recalling an incident at Liverpool Airport and calling it an 'invaluable purchase': "Finally bought these just before our holiday. We just flew back from Málaga late Saturday night last weekend after a 3-hour delay."
Their relief was clear as they continued: "When we got to the baggage belt a text came through to say that the entire flight's luggage was still in Málaga. We were told the luggage would be flown to Dublin the next day and delivered to our homes."
They added: "The next day we were able to check the whereabouts of our cases (still in Málaga) and track again when they had landed in Dublin."
"Just make sure they are suitable for your phone", warned a recent buyer. Another unhappy customer pointed out a major problem, saying: "I have returned this item as it isn't compatible with any other phone. And Amazon says not returned....not clear that they aren't compatible with other phones."
For those who need compatibility with different smartphones, we recommend the Tile Tag, despite its in-app purchases, whereas the AirTag is still a great option for those dedicated to the iPhone.
