Floral tributes have been left at the scene of a bus crash in Nottingham which saw a woman in her thirties lose her life. Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that a woman died after an incident on Lower Parliament Street on Tuesday (October 22).

A collision between a bus and a pedestrian had been reported at 6.05am and the woman was treated at the scene, but died a short time later. A floral tribute has now been left at the scene of the tragedy.

The tribute has been left by "LW4C", which is understood to refer to the Learning Works For Children Nursery on Carlton Road. The nursery has been approached for comment.

The message left reads: "Taken too soon by a tragic accident - you will be missed by many. Condolences to everyone affected."

Chief Inspector Dean Gallacher, of Nottinghamshire Police, previously said: "This was a tragic incident and we are currently working to understand exactly what happened." Additional witnesses are asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 72 of October 22.

Nottingham City Transport previously confirmed that one of its Navy Line buses had been involved in the collision, with the operator saying: "The collision occurred after the bus had departed the bus stop at the bottom of George Street and was making its turn in to Parliament Street... Our thoughts are with everyone involved and affected by this incident, including our driver who is being supported by the company."
