ITV Coronation Street's Vicky Myers supported by Emmerdale 'big sister' in special tribute

Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley has paid tribute to Coronation Street star Vicky Myers who she shared the screen with on BBC One drama Age Before Beauty

Emmerdale's Lisa Riley has taken to social media to pay tribute to her friend and Coronation Street actress Vicky Myers. Lisa, who has been a part of the Dingle family on Emmerdale since 1995, playing Mandy Dingle, took to Instagram to praise Vicky's performance as DS Lisa Swain on Coronation Street.

Vicky has been portraying the role of police officer DS Lisa Swain on Coronation Street since 2021 and is currently involved in one of the soap's major storylines involving the presumed-dead villain Joel Deering. Her character has also been developing a close relationship with Carla Connor recently, with their friendship blossoming.

In a heartfelt message to her "baby sister", Lisa Riley wrote: "So unbelievably proud of my work pretend TV baby sister @vicksmyers knocking it out of the park, playing the role of Lisa so brilliantly in @coronationstreet".

She continued: "I have always said, and mean it from the bottom of my heart, BEAUTIFUL THINGS HAPPEN TO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE.... and one thing is for sure Vicky is an absolute beauty. I am your proudest big sister....keep being you, babes."

The two actresses previously worked together on the 2018 drama Age Before Beauty, where they played sisters, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Responding to the tribute, Vicky Myers said: "Well, how lovely of you! Women empowering women and what a woman you are! Thank you so much, big sis! ".

Fans have been quick to show their support for the actresses in the comments. One fan wrote: ''She's amazing at what she does, also love seeing actors supporting others.'.

The shared photos reveal the pair looking quite different from their onscreen personas. The actor who plays Lisa Swain is seen sporting pink hair in the throwback images, a stark contrast to her character's professional appearance.
