Emergency services called to incident on A52 as traffic halted for 30 minutes

Emergency services were called to an an incident on a busy Nottinghamshire road that halted motorists for 30 minutes. A reported collision occurred between the Wheatcroft & Nottingham Knight roundabouts near Edwalton on Thursday morning (October 17).

National Highways officers were pictured responding to the incident at around 10am, with highways vehicles lighting up signs to warn drivers. Some drivers were held for more than 30 minutes by the blockage.

The severity and circumstances of the crash are not yet known. While the crash caused significant queues and delays for motorists, the incident was cleared by 10.15pm according to drivers that had been stuck in the tailback.

An eyewitness told Nottinghamshire Live: "Accident between Wheatcroft and Nottingham Knight - not moved now for 30 minutes." The traffic appears to have eased as of 10.30am on Thursday.
