Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy said the past few days 'haven't felt real'

Liam Payne's girlfriend says she is at a "complete loss" following the former One Direction star's death. Kate was with Liam in the days leading up to his untimely passing, before returning to her home in Florida, USA.

The couple had been on holiday in Argentina and had attended a concert by Liam's former bandmate, Niall Horan. Throughout their trip, which was initially planned for five days, both Liam and Kate kept their fans updated on social media.

Liam tragically died after sustaining severe injuries from falling from the third floor of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In an emotional Instagram post, Kate expressed her deep love for her late boyfriend and admitted she's "at a loss". She wrote: "Thank you for all of the kind words and love that has been sent my way.

"I have been at a complete loss. Nothing about the past few days have felt real. I ask and pray that you'll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private. Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you Liam.", reports the Mirror.

Liam and Kate's meeting could have been lifted straight from a romantic comedy script when the then-ordinary waitress served the celebrity at a bar in Charleston, South Carolina, back in 2022. Liam was smitten immediately and didn't hesitate to ask for her number.

However, their budding romance nearly stumbled at the first hurdle. Kate gave Liam her phone number but forgot to add the +1 international dialling code, as she had an American number.
