Morgan Gibbs-White to miss Nottingham Forest fixture as three controversial red cards shown

With just under 10 minutes to play, Gibbs-White slid in on Joao Pedro as he chased down the Brighton attacker. It was a forceful challenge, but Gibbs-White won the ball and referee Rob Jones appeared to signal as such.
But there was then a change of mind from the official, who showed a second yellow card to the midfielder, sending him for an early bath. It means Gibbs-White will miss next weekend’s home match against Fulham.
In the aftermath of the red card, both managers were sent off too. Forest boss Nuno angrily pointed at Jones after Gibbs-White was dismissed, and so the referee pulled out his red card again. Amid a melee near the dugouts, Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler then received a red card, the Seagulls boss staring on bemused by the decision.
The game finished level after Forest came from behind to keep up their unbeaten start to the Premier League season. A Chris Wood penalty had given them the lead, but two Brighton goals just before half-time changed the picture, with Jack Hinshelwood heading in before Danny Welbeck scored a free-kick.
Nuno made changes at the interval and on the hour and they paid off as substitutes Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa combined for a second-half leveller. It means Forest now sit eighth in the table with two wins and three draws from their opening five fixtures.
