A huge police cordon and a number of road closures remain in place in Nottingham city centre after a woman was killed in a bus crash. Emergency services were called to Lower Parliament Street at 6.05am on Tuesday, October 22 following reports of a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian.

The woman, who was in her 30s, was treated at the scene but died a short time later, Nottinghamshire Police said. A huge police cordon remains in place between Milton Street and Glasshouse Street while investigation work takes place and police have warned that road closures will remain in place for some time.

A number of bus services have been disrupted while the closure is in place. Some are operating from different stops in the city centre and operator Nottingham City Transport warned of delays to many of its city centre services.
