Nottingham bus crash scene photos show extent of police cordon as road remains closed

A huge police cordon remains in place on a busy stretch of road in Nottingham city centre after a bus crash. Lower Parliament Street was taped off between Milton Street and Glasshouse Street at around 7am on Tuesday, October 22.

The collision is believed to have involved a double-decker bus and a pedestrian. More than a dozen police cars were called to the scene, with several side streets sealed off by officers.

Nottingham City Transport (NCT) said there are "severe delays" to its services due to the incident, resulting in several temporary stop changes. In a statement issued at 7.15am, Nottinghamshire Police said the closure will remain in place for "some time".

"Lower Parliament Street in Nottingham city centre has been closed between Milton Street and Glasshouse Street after a serious road traffic collision," said a spokesperson.

"It will remain closed for some time and drivers are advised to avoid the area. Thank you." Traffic website Inrix states: "A6008 Lower Parliament Street in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident, a bus involved from Upper Parliament Street to A60 King Edward Street."
