20 hours of rain on the way as Nottinghamshire gets another weather warning

The Met Office advised drivers to check road conditions and re-plan their routes if necessary

Nottinghamshire will once again be hit by hours of heavy rain as the county deals with a fresh yellow weather warning. The Met Office issued the warning for heavy rain between 8am on Monday, September 30, and 3am on Tuesday, October 1. The warning affects the entire county.

Totals of 20-40mm of rain could fall during the period, while 'a few places' might see up to 60-80mm. The warning reads: "An area of rain, heavy in places, will affect parts of the north-east Midlands and east and northeast England during Monday, before clearing overnight.

"There is significant uncertainty in the amount of rainfall and location of the largest totals, but 20-40 mm of rain could fall quite widely with a chance that a few places could see 60-80 mm. Strong northeasterly winds will accompany the rain."

The forecaster added that "there is a small chance that heavy rain may cause some flooding and disruption on Monday". Some power cuts and loss of other services could also result from the bad weather, while some properties could be flooded.

There is also a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services. Temperatures are expected to remain low throughout the day, reaching a maximum of 13C.
