Well, it turns out everybody wants more “Nobody Wants This.”

The hit rom-com Netflix series has been renewed for a second season, along with a showrunner shake-up. “Girls” alums Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan will be the new co-showrunners for Season 2; the series marks Konner and Kaplan’s first collaboration since their iconic HBO show, created by Lena Dunham.

“Nobody Wants This” was created and executive produced by Erin Foster, who drew inspiration from her own life to write the love story between a gentile podcaster (Kristen Bell) and a rabbi (Adam Brody). The series was released September 26 on Netflix, with Foster and executive producer Craig DiGregorio as the co-showrunners.

“Creating ‘Nobody Wants This’ will forever be a career highlight for me,” Foster said. “The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed. I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story, and to do it alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who I’ve been such a fan of since ‘Girls’…Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!”

Konner said in press statement, “It’s a dream to be working on ‘Nobody Wants This.’ Erin is the rare creator with a crystal clear voice and a genuinely collaborative spirit. I am a true fan of Erin’s show and also feel so lucky to be back in a room with two of my favorites, Bruce Kaplan and [writer] Sarah Heyward from ‘Girls.’”

Kaplan added, “I am excited beyond belief to be a part of Season 2 of ‘Nobody Wants This,’ created by the hilarious Erin Foster. It is such a unique and beautiful show and I am already having the best time working on it.”

Both Konner and Kaplan will be executive producers on the series, along with Jenni Konner Productions president Nora Silver. Foster, Bell, and Steve Levitan will return as executive producers as well.

And Konner and Kaplan’s role at Netflix coincides with another “Girl” being at the platform: Dunham’s “Too Much” is a highly-anticipated upcoming Netflix series starring Will Sharpe and Megan Stalter. Like “Nobody Wants This,” “Too Much” is also based on showrunner Dunham’s personal romance.
