Ashwini Chandrasekhar, an engineering graduate from Shivamogga, has become busy with Kannada, Telugu and Tamil movies. Ashwini plays the leading role in Vijay Raghavendra-starrer Rippen Swamy.

The poster of the movie, with a raw and gritty look, released in August, has created a lot of buzz. Vijay Raghavendra, known for playing soft and cop characters, plays a different character in this film. Ashwini Chandrasekhar plays an Ayurveda doctor.

“I debuted in movies with the Tamil movie Parandhu Sella Vaa. I am basically a classical dancer. I was Miss Karnataka 2011 and Miss South India 2012. My passion towards movies made me want to act in movies even after getting a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering. My maiden movie in Kannada was Prema Pallaki,’’ said Ashwini.

She said that she has high hopes for Rippen Swamy. “I play an important character in the movie. I am sure the audience will appreciate my acting skills. As of now, I am busy with Tamil movies. Some directors have approached me to act in Kannada movies but I am yet to take a call on accepting the roles,’’ she said.
