Man beaten over minor dispute
by Bangalore Mirror · Bangalore MirrorIn an incident reported on Wednesday, a minor verbal dispute turned violent, resulting in injuries and a complaint lodged at the Byadarahalli police station. The altercation began at Karanji Dhaba on Herohalli Magadi Road, where Arun Kumar, 26 years old, a resident of Sanjeevini Nagara, had stopped for a drink before heading home.
The victim often visits the dhaba for a drink around 9:00 pm. After leaving an hour later, he saw Sachin, a local, sitting in a car with another person. An argument broke out when Sachin’s companion shouted at Arunkumar, who responded similarly. The confrontation ended, and Sachin drove away.
Tensions escalated when the victim received a call from the accused at 10:30 pm, inviting him to Nagarholenagar Circle. Upon arriving, he found Sachin and three others waiting for him.
The group allegedly hurled insults, which escalated into a physical altercation. The victim claims the accused verbally abused him while three men struck him, with one using a nearby tile to hit his forehead, head, and below his right eye, causing multiple injuries.
A nearby Hoysala patrol intervened during the assault and took the victim to Anupama Hospital for first aid. The victim filed a complaint, and the police launched an investigation.
