Child drowns in rain-filled pit

A five-year-old boy drowned in a five-feet-deep pit which was dug up for the lift construction and left uncovered in an under-construction building for the upcoming milk dairy in Kannamangala in Kadugodi on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Suhas Gowda was playing with his friends, when he slipped. Other boys playing with him, rushed to inform their parents and residents pulled him out and took him to the nearby hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead

The parents have filed a complaint against the director of the milk dairy and owner of the building.

2 injured in cylinder blast

Two youths sustained burning injuries in an explosion which was caused while refilling an LPG cylinder at a shop in Electronic City on Wednesday.

The injured have been identified as Syed Reyan (20) and Syed Ayan (25). According to the police, Anwar, the owner of the shop who is currently on the run, had rented the shop for a few days to run an illegal refilling unit and had employed the victims who are his relatives.

The duo, not aware of the work they were doing, tried to refill a cylinder using the PIN which led to the explosion. The police have registered a suo-motu case against Anwar.

Case against rehab centre

The Bellandur police registered a case against a rehab centre in Haralur after the wife filed the complaint following the death of her 40-year-old husband under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday.

The deceased who is identified as Shankrappa was admitted to ‘New Hope Rehab Centre’ after his alcohol addiction.

The family was told by staff that he collapsed while having his breakfast and died but the family alleged that they noticed his private parts were swollen and accused the staff of torture and assault led to death.
