Not Leopard, Wild cat caught on camera near Bhubaneswar airport

Bhubaneswar: A wild cat was spotted near the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) at late night around 2 am, informed Forest official Alok Kumar Parida and his colleagues.

It is estimated that the height of wild cat is about 1.5 ft tall and 3 ft long.

Yesterday, panic gripped among the people after people claimed that they spotted a big cat near the Bhubaneswar airport. As per sources, some employees spotted a leopard near the dumping yard of the airport and raised an alarm.

Immediately a team of forest officials and police rushed to the spot and launched a search operation.

The team had set up trap cameras to catch hold the leopard. They had got cameras from Nandankanan Zoo which was set up by a special team. They had set up armed with nets and other equipments. Later, they had laid a trap by tieing a chicken inside the cage.
