Two get death sentence in Angul for killing couple and their minor son

Angul: The Athmallik additional district sessions court today awarded death sentence to two persons for killing a couple and four-year-old son in Odisha’s Angul district in 2017.

The two persons who got the death sentence are Prakash Behera and Nanda Kishore Sethi of Gamharimaliha village uner Kishorenagar police station of Athmallik tehsil in the district.

According to reports, Biranchi Nayak and his wife Tarini had taken a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh from the Maa Maheswari Group of the village in October 2017. After knowing about it, Prakash Behera and Nanda Kishore went Biranchi’s house to steal the money. However, when Biranchi Nayak and his Tarini protested, the duo killed the couple. They also did not spare their minor son, caused his death on the spot.

While probing the case, Kishorenagar police found involvement of Prakash Behera and Nanda Kishore Sethi in the case and forwarded them to the court after arresting them.

While conducting a hearing of the case today, the court examined the evidence and ordered Prakash and Nanda Kishore to be hanged till death.
