28-year-old burnt alive inside car in Greater Noida, police suspect murder

Based on a complaint filed by the victim's family, two people have been detained who are reported to be friends of the victim.

A 28-year-old man was burnt to death after a Fortuner car caught fire in Greater Noida. The incident occurred near Kot Pul Nagla, about 100 meters off the road, where the vehicle was discovered.

The victim has been identified as Sanjay Yadav, a 28-year-old resident of Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad, who was involved in real estate. Eyewitnesses reported that efforts by locals and police to rescue him from the burning car were unsuccessful.

Visuals showing the extent of damage to the car were received by India Today. Visuals also showed the burning car inside which the body of the victim was discovered.

The family of the victim claimed that they lost contact with him around 2.30 pm, following which they reported the matter to the police. They claimed that Sanjay had given a loan of Rs 5 lakh to the accused, which could've been the motive behind the murder.

The victim's family further claimed that the accused stole jewellery from Sanjay after killing him.

Police suspect that the accused may have suffered burn injuries while carrying out the crime. As a result, they are visiting hospitals to ascertain if anyuone with burn injuries admitted themselves around the same time as Sanjay was killed.

The victim's family filed a complaint, leading to the detention of two people reported to be friends of the victim. However, the police suspect that more people could be behind the crime and are currently investigating the case.
