Noida school staffer sexually assaults girl, 3, teachers keep it under wraps

Following the arrest of the main accused, the girl's class teacher and the school's security supervisor were also arrested for concealing the crime, police said.

A housekeeping staffer at a private school in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl on the school premises. A teacher and the school’s security supervisor were also arrested for concealing the crime, police said.

The accused, Nithyanand, a resident of Nithari village in Noida, was hired as a sweeper a few months ago on contract. He allegedly took the girl to a secluded area of the school and sexually assaulted her.

The girl’s parents noticed she was unusually quiet after returning from school and decided to take her to a doctor. When questioned, she said the staffer had touched her private parts.

The family filed a complaint with the Sector 20 police station on October 10, leading to Nithyanand’s arrest.

Following an investigation, police determined that the girl’s class teacher and the school’s security supervisor were aware of the assault but failed to report it to authorities. They were arrested on Thursday and charged with concealment of a crime.
