Sporting CP delivered a sensational comeback to give manager Ruben Amorim a memorable send-off in his final home game, defeating Manchester City 4-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday. City initially dominated, with Phil Foden opening the scoring early on and missing other chances to extend the lead. However, Viktor Gyokeres equalized just before halftime, sparking Sporting’s resurgence.

Seconds into the second half, Maximiliano Araujo capped a swift team move to put Sporting ahead. Minutes later, Gyokeres converted a penalty to widen the gap. Erling Haaland then missed a crucial penalty for City, striking the crossbar, before Gyokeres sealed his hat-trick with another spot-kick, igniting celebrations at Estadio Jose Alvalade. Amorim, set to join Manchester United on November 11, leaves Sporting well-positioned in their group with 10 points from four games, while City sits at seven points after their first defeat.

Meanwhile, AC Milan stunned defending champions Real Madrid with a 3-1 victory. Malick Thiaw opened the scoring for Milan with a well-timed header from a corner, only for Vinicius Jr to equalize from the penalty spot shortly after. Alvaro Morata restored Milan's lead, pouncing on a rebound in the 39th minute, and Tijjani Reijnders finished off a counterattack with a strike from Rafael Leao’s cross to secure Milan’s impressive win. Real Madrid now sits in 17th place in the 36-team standings with six points, just above Milan on goal difference.
