Watch: Chaos at local train stations, waterlogging in Mumbai due to heavy rain

There were chaotic scenes in Mumbai on Wednesday evening as heavy rain lashed the city after the weather department issued a red alert earlier in the day. Due to heavy rain, several roads were severely waterlogged, bringing vehicular traffic to a standstill.

Visuals from Parel and Matunga showed that due to waterlogged roads, vehicular movement virtually stopped after rain pounded the city for about 4 to 5 hours.  

Also, Mumbai's local train services were also affected as railway tracks were inundated after the downpour with thousands of passengers waiting at station platforms.
