Apple is planning to launch a new MacBook Air device featuring the latest M4 chip by early 2025, according to Bloomberg. Production of the updated models is expected to commence soon, with the launch likely to take place between January and March next year. This announcement follows a series of new Mac devices, including MacBook Pros, Mac minis, and iMacs, which are set to be revealed next week.

The refreshed MacBook Air models, which will come in 13-inch and 15-inch versions, will reportedly retain the design introduced in 2022. However, the significant upgrade will be the inclusion of the M4 chip, promising improved speed and performance, especially for AI-related tasks. Apple is making a major push by upgrading its entire Mac range to the M4 generation in one go, a notable move for the tech giant.

The cited report suggests that the new MacBook Air modelss will be launched after a software update in December, paving the way for the devices to be available in early 2025. The previous MacBook Air was updated in March 2023 with the M3 chip, and Apple had also introduced a 15-inch variant powered by the M2 chip in June 2023.

Alongside the MacBook Air, Apple had initially planned to release a new high-end Mac Studio model. However, this device, which is aimed at professionals, has been delayed and is now expected to launch between March and June. Apple is also continuing work on the M4 version of the Mac Pro, its high-end desktop computer.

The M4 chip will bring notable advancements to the Mac Studio and Mac Pro, particularly in graphics performance through ray tracing, which is essential for gaming. Additionally, the Neural Engine, responsible for AI task processing, will see enhancements.

In addition to the MacBook Air, Apple is expected to launch a range of other products in early 2025, including a redesigned iPhone SE, new iPad Air models, and updated iPad keyboards. Reports also suggest that 11th-generation entry-level iPads are in the pipeline for the same release period.
