Virat Kohli's nightmare against Mitchell Santner continued in Pune Test as he was dismissed for just 17 runs in the second innings of the Pune Test on October 26, Saturday. This was the 6th time that Kohli has been dismissed by Santner in all formats of the game as India's chase got wrecked by the left-arm spinner.

Kohli was dismissed by Santner off a full toss in the first innings on Friday as the New Zealand spinner picked up a career-best 7 wickets. The onus was on the Indian batters to bail the team out and the team got off to a good start thanks to the 62-run stand between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. However, the wickets started to tumble after lunch break.

Santner was on a roll and was up against Kohli, who was extra cautious with his approach. The defence of Kohli seemed to be on point till the moment in the 30th over. Off the last ball, Santner decided to fire a ball into Kohli and hit the back leg of the Indian star. He was adjudged out immediately by the on-field umpire and Kohli went for the review.

After his heroics in the first innings, Santner continued to haunt the Indian batters on Saturday. He started things with the wicket of Rohit Sharma and then was able to get Shubman Gill with an absolute peach. Jaiswal, who looked to be set with 77 off 65 balls, was the next one to fall for India.

Santner would then pull off a sensational effort to run-out Pant for a duck, before getting Kohli. Santner would then get his 2nd 5-wicket haul of the game by dismissing Sarfaraz Khan.

The left-arm spinners has dismissed Kohli twice in Tests, 3 times in ODIs and once in T20Is.
