A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly secretly installing spy cameras in the bedroom and bathroom of a female UPSC aspirant in Delhi’s Shakarpur area. The woman was living as a tenant in Delhi and the accused is her landlord's son, identified as Karan. He was taken into custody after the woman discovered the hidden devices and alerted the police.

The woman, who is preparing for the UPSC examination, became suspicious after noticing unusual activity on her WhatsApp account. When she checked her linked devices, she found that her account had been accessed from an unknown laptop. This prompted her to search her apartment, leading to the discovery of a spy camera inside the bulb holder of her bathroom.

She immediately called the police, and officers arrived to investigate the matter. During the search, they found another spy camera hidden in the bulb holder of her bedroom. The woman revealed that she often trusted her landlord's son, Karan, with her house keys when she was away.

During interrogation, Karan admitted to installing the cameras three months ago while the woman had gone to her home town in Uttar Pradesh.

He used her trust to repeatedly request the house keys, under the pretence of repairing electrical fixtures, in order to retrieve the footage stored on the memory cards of the offline cameras.

The police seized one spy camera and two laptops containing recorded videos from Karan’s possession.

An FIR has been registered under relevant sections, and Karan, who has been preparing for competitive exams for the last seven years but has not succeeded, has been arrested.
