Screen idol Timothee West dies at 90

British star Timothee West, who was known for his appearance in shows, films and plays, has died. He was 90.

British television and movie star, Timothee West, has died. He was 90. The actor's children shared a joint statement with the media about the tragic news and said that West died "peacefully in his sleep."

"He was with his friends and family at the end. All of us will miss him terribly. We would like to thank the incredible NHS staff at St George's Hospital, Tooting and at Avery Wandsworth for their loving care during his last days," read the complete statement shared by the BBC.

Timothee West is survived by his three children -- Juliet, Samuel and Joseph West, who shared that the artiste had a "long and extraordinary life on and off the stage."

West is also survived by his wife Prunella Scales, who is known for her appearance in Fawlty Towers. They were married together for 61 years. Meanwhile, West was known for projects such as Great Canal Journeys, Edward the Seventh, The Day of the Jackal, Cry Freedom, Masada, Iris and Brass among more.
