Watch: BTS member J-hope gets discharged from military, Jin welcomes him

J-Hope of BTS has been discharged from military service, and welcomed by Jin. He expressed gratitude to fans and shared insights from his military life. Jin's solo album is set for November 15, 2024.

K-pop star and BTS member J-Hope, aka Jung Hoseok, has been discharged from the South Korean military after fulfilling his mandatory service. He enlisted in April of last year and completed his 18 months of duty as a civilian. He was welcomed by Jin outside his military base in Wonju, Gangwon Province.

He is the second member of BTS, after Jin, to be discharged. Dressed in red, Jin greeted J-Hope with flowers and even helped him with his speech to the media. Soon after, J-Hope went live on Weverse to interact with fans.

"Thanks to the fans, I was able to finish it (the service) safely, with health," he told the media, adding, "What I've felt for the past year and a half is that a lot of soldiers are working hard, dedicating themselves, and doing so much to protect the country."

During the live session, J-Hope spoke about his military life and mentioned how he felt he learnt a lot as a civilian during this time. It helped him connect with himself and society much more. It is likely that J-Hope will be shooting for the Run Jin crew today itself.

The other members of BTS—Min Yoongi, Jungkook, Jimin, V, and RM—will complete their service by June 2025, and the group will reconvene next year.

Meanwhile, Jin is all set to release his solo album on November 15, 2024. Titled Happy, it will feature six tracks. The tracklist includes: “Running Wild,” “I’ll Be There” (co-written with Take That's Gary Barlow), “Another Level,” “Falling” (written with Taka and Toru of One OK Rock), “Heart on the Window” (featuring Wendy), and “I Will Come to You.”
